Homemade Cake Batter Cookies

Tuesday, February 11, 2020

It's officially the sweetest time of the year!  Valentine's Day to me is the perfect time to bake sweet treats to share with friends and family.

These homemade cake batter cookies are just too cute and so simple to whip up.  All you need are a few basic ingredients, some cute sprinkles (found mine at Homegoods and Target) and season M&M's.  If you are still looking for something to bake and share for Friday, be sure to give these a try.

Homemade Cake Batter Cookies
{Yield: 24 cookies}

2 sticks unsalted butter, soften to room temperature
1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1 large egg
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. Kosher salt
½ cup sprinkles
½ cup M&M's
½ cup white chocolate chips

Preheat your over to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with a Silipat non-stick silicone liner or parchment paper and set aside.

In a stand-up mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed for 2 minutes or until the mixture is light and fluffy.  Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg.  Beat until combined and scrape down the sides of the bowl again.

Add in the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.  With the mixer on low, slowly mix together the wet and dry ingredients just until combined.  Add in the sprinkles, M&M's and white chocolate chips and mix until combined.  Then using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough balls and place them on the lined cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.  Lightly pat the tops of the cookie dough down to get a flatter, more round cookie and then top each with a few extra M&M's!

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden brown.  These cookies are better when they are slightly undercooked, trust me!

Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.  Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Monday, February 3, 2020

With Valentine's Day right around the corner (can you believe it?!), I thought it would be fun to put together a little gift guide and wish list that is full of pink and hearts!

This heart-shaped waffle maker would be such a sweet way to start off Valentine's Day morning by making your loved one (or yourself!) breakfast served along side with this adorable kitchen towel!

Valentine's Day PJs are such a fun gift to receive and this pajama shirt and short set would be a lovely gift and oh so cozy!

This Gucci perfume is one of my absolute favorites that has a rich and perfectly feminine white floral scent.

Delicate heart earrings would complete any Valentine's Day look along with these sunnies in coral!

This SENREVE Mini Maestra bag in blush would be a splurge, but such a fun surprise to receive.

I am a sucker for anything pink and this rose T3 Clip Barrel Styling Wand and Ionic Hair Dryer are just too cute and such a fun gift to receive.

Now, this tiny diamond bow ring is also a splurge, but I just love how delicate and timeless it is.  It's something that you could wear for a lifetime!
